Hello friends, We’re listening to Brené Brown’s Leadership podcast and turning over the idea of rumbling with vulnerability. When our loved ones are sick, and when we do not know what the future holds, and when we know that regardless of outcome we are going to struggle, to push to our limits, and to continue showing up every day trying to tamp down or transform our terror, we are vulnerable. As empathetic and loving humans we push against a world of sorrow and fear everyday. We embrace beautiful days and gentle seasons in our lives and can forget that life includes a full spectrum of joy and despair.
Our journey brought us to a brokenhearted place of total vulnerability where our daughter, our friend’s children, and our loved ones could not know what the future would hold. When we practice processing our own emotions, when we give in to the risk of loving so fiercely that our egos stand down, that is when we find stillness. We only, ever and always, have our current moment of life. My favorite scripture is “be still and know that I am God.” Finding stillness is finding the now, embracing our love for each other, and realizing that vulnerability is love.
Love is vulnerable. It hopes and endures and it hurts. Love draws us out and connects us to what matters. Here. Let’s connect.
