Our matching sweatpants are printed down the leg with the words, Warrior Vibes. Kirby Lottman, the web-developer & co-founder of My Cancer Registry sent them as a message. “You are not alone” and “You are going to have to fight.”

Each year in the U.S. there are an estimated 15,780 children who are diagnosed with cancer. Approximately 1 in 285 children in the U.S. will be diagnosed before their 20th birthday. The American Childhood Cancer Organization started “because kids can’t fight cancer alone.”

Lisa Houlgrave understood this when she photographed Sabina and Audrey last March. Our warrior donned fierce makeup and clothes but was vulnerable and unconvinced of her power. She turned to her family, her friends, to her doctors, and to strangers to measure her chances of victory. What she saw reflected in her community was a resolve to take action and a passion to stay involved.

My Cancer Registry makes cancer patients’ journeys easier by helping their families to organize their needs, connect with resources, and communicate with those who are positioned to help. Our programs connect with local charities that serve the patients of all 200 pediatric cancer hospitals in the US and reach every newly diagnosed pediatric cancer family with an answer to the question “How can I help?”. Our sustained, app-supported service promotes giving and serving beyond the cancer journey.
